The Great Year Of Greenskins, Weekly Update-Week 14

I know I keep previewing things I am working on without then posting the finished product, but I have so many items in a halfway finished state while I figure out how to bring them across the finish line. I am hoping that after we finish the current block of spear gobbos to be able to switch to a week or so of something more exciting. That said, here is what I am working on right now, kitbashed banners and standards for the line troops.

I plan to knock these out first so that I can work on command groups (standard, musician and champion) for each of the blocks that have been shown so far and post those. These standards are work in progress, so will have some additional tweaks and changes to fit models.

Human, dwarf and skaven trophies, along with some hooks and spikes. Will plan on painting some sort of unit insignia on the banner portion. Base standard from Avatars of War, with a lot of additional bits from free STLs.

Moon insignia on top, important for night goblins. Looted skaven charms, hooks, and a hanging hang. Bigger banner area to paint a larger icon or champion symbol. Base standard from Avatars of War, with a lot of additional bits from free STLs.

Looted skaven gong with moon icon welded onto it, bear scalp and dwarf icons (nailed to pole to deface) and hanging human skulls (might need to adjust size of those once I put on bearer to scale correctly)

Flayed skin banner on double crossbars, with some hooks, a dwarf head, skaven skull, and a mystery monster foot. Base standard from Avatars of War, with a lot of additional bits from free STLs.

I will be doing 2-4 more standards for the foot troops, as well as some banners for the wolfrat riders when they are done, and any other riding type units (more of a flying pennant style for those standards)

And now our Greenskin STL of the week:

This is the Avatars of War Goblin Chariot

It’s not a new kit (3 yrs old), but it is a banger. Besides the wonderful details you are used to seeing from AoW, it is also multipart, and from my testing can be combined with parts from their Grotling Battle Wagon or Orc Boar Chariot kits to make additional greenskin war engines or customize the chariot so each looks unique.

Have a good weekend all, and I will update you on my progress again next week.
