Sometimes when you start learning a new skill or computer program you go with the basics and see how long that can carry. Eventually however, you find your needing to figure out some complex stuff. That is how I got tied up and twisted, even enmeshed in learning how to make ropes and nets in Blender. I want to do some netters for the gobbo infantry blocks, but I didn’t like the existing options I had for nets.
So how hard could it be to make my own? The answer is, very hard, and time intensive (with the caveat that there is probably a better way I haven’t yet found).
I started with ropes I was able to make using YouTube videos, and then using same techniques to make knots.

Then I decided I would need several different styles, depending on the purpose. These round nets will either be for teams of netters (one hand on net, other holding a bashing weapon), or I will try and reshape into a flung net.

The triangular nets will be either a one handed flinger, or held or swung in both hands my one netter.

This in progress semi-crescent net will be flung either forward or underhanded toward the target.

I need to try and finalize the nets and move on with hands and body poses that are good matches for the flinger and throwing motions of the nets. Definitely a slow week for productivity (despite having free time for holidays), but did figure out some things.
Update: Here are first two netter teams:

Our Greenskin of the Week is some great tribal camp terrain from Making Tlon that could be used for table terrain or dioramas.
