The Great Year Of Greenskins, Month 1 (Squig Herder Noisemakers)

This was scheduled to go out on Halloween, but somehow got stuck in the interwebs. Pushing it out manually today (but with planned date). Our first big monthly post is a selection of 6 different squigherder noisemakers, which will give me ideas for the eventual need to add musicians to each block of troops (along with standard bearers and champions). Next month will see the squigherder prodders or the squigs themselves

Gufkrump found his instrument in the barn of a human farmer, banging it with one of this bones. He occasionally will strike the dorf skull on his right thigh when he wants a different note.

Body by Adamant Arsenal, Avatar of War hands. Face and hood is a heavily resculpted free stl, with new eyes, nose and ears. The backpack is also from Adamant Arsenal. The cowbell, bone striker and belt accessories are all from various free stls combined and resized and shaped. Dorf skull was I think free stl, or a minor ($5 or so) purchase. Additional mushrooms on hat were from purchased stls from various scenery makers (again, lower cost stl packs)

Bonebanga is another Night gobbo who like the cowbell. Fueled up on good shroom juice, he is tireless in his efforts to ensure everyone knows they are coming.

This is a very similar body as above, but different in the cloth rips, belting, etc. Also I chopped off the feet and replaced with ones from Avatars of War. I went with the cowbell in left hand, and a different bone striker. The face was resculpted differently, and different free stl accessories used (though he also has the dorf skull on hip, a possible trend amongst night gobbo cowbell players)

Skrapklang may look like a sneaky git, but there is nothing subtle in how he announces the charge of his squigs, banging on cymbals made from repurposed looted shields.

Body by Adamant Arsenal, with feet from Highland Miniatures swamp goblins. The arms are from a free stl, as is the head, which was then given a heavy smooth and resculpt with the scarf from Titanforge Midnight goblins, new vdm ears, nose and eyes, and added mushrooms. Adamant Arsenal shroom backpack. I am thinking most important members of the tribe will have some sort of shroom presence.

Morklang loves the resounding crash of metal on metal, and even in combat uses his cymbals, smashing them into faces, breaking fingers and distracting foes for his mates to kill.

Upper body from Adamant arsenal, lower body from free stl, with Highland miniatures feet. The arms as as above, with another free stl head reworked, this time with a avatars of war face to go with the new vdm brush ears.

Zodgob plays his squigpipes in a frenzy, his face slowly becoming more and more blue until he almost passes out and has to catch his breath.

Adamant Arsenal body, with a mix of repurposed feet. The squigpipe was custom made from mesh primitives, resculpted with vdm textures and then mushroom pipes added and joined in. The head is a The Beholder Black Horde base, with the face then sculpted to be in a blowing pose. I am very happy how this turned out.

Gargsqueaka makes up his lack of speed by injecting volume. His notes are ear piercing, and he is often the one tasked to give the initial attack signal.

Adamant Arsenal body, with repurposed feet from Highland Miniatures. The squigpipe was custom made as described above. The head is same as above, with a few minor tweaks.

I hope you have all liked this unit, I think they will give the army a great component you don’t see in many other night goblin armies.
